Construction Safety

The Construction Safety Consultants provide consulting service, management safety process evaluation, loss control program audits, facility inspections, OSHA hazard surveys, and training to construction clients. Our “hands on” experience of more than 80 years of construction related loss control activities enable the engineer to assist in developing solutions that can be effective in the unique environment of the dynamic construction site.

Pre-Construction Planning. PCP includes a review of current loss control programs to ensure they are effective in reducing losses and in meeting government regulations.  Priorities can be set for pre-planning construction operations to remove potential loss producing exposures.

Jobsite Surveys*. Construction Consultants have experience working contractors and have an average of 18 years field experience. Team member designations included; Registered Engineer, Certified Safety Professional and Associate Risk Manager.  Consultants can help develop hazard controls needed for a given site. Surveys are not meant to point out deficiencies; they are used as a tool to improve a safety culture.  Recommendations are developed on site and discussed on site with project management. Hand written copies of  recommendation are left on site with anticipated actions and specific time frames for completion.

OSHA 1926 10/30 Hour Training*. Our training is delivered by construction safety professionals and uses photographs and video  to illustrate conditions, gain class participation, and vary class pace.  It can be customized, and include any of the following: General Provisions; Occupational Health/Environmental Controls; Personal Protective Equipment; Fire Protection; Signs, Signals, Barriers; Materials Handling; Hand/Power Tools; Welding; Electrical; Scaffolds; Fall Protection; Cranes; Motor Vehicles; Excavations; Concrete Construction; Steel Erection; Underground Construction; Demolition; Blasting; Power Transmission; Stairways and Ladders; Hazardous Substances; Confined Space Entry.

Job Safety Task Analysis. We believe that one of the most important aspects of your program is clearly understanding the safest and most efficient way of performing a task.  If task’s are well planned, contractors know their responsibility and downtime associated with safety deficiencies is minimized.

Construction Safety Desktop*. Consisting of almost 4,000 files and 630 megabytes of information structured in an easy-to-access format, CSD was designed as an in depth safety resource for construction companies.

For each topic, an extensive array of materials is provided, including:

  • Employee handouts;
  • Training programs including toolbox talks;
  • Sample safety programs for most topics;
  • Links to applicable OSHA standards and references to relevant standards;
  • Tools such as checklists, guides, and forms to help implement safety measures.
